Region:

Managers and restorers of coppice woodlands (especially hazel). Based in southern Gloucestershire, with our Yard just outside Tetbury, we are currently leading the big coppice restoration project in Westonbirt Arboretum.

We make a wide range of coppice products from the materials that we coppice. Wattle and gate hurdles; faggots; charcoal; tent pegs, bean poles and pea sticks to name but some. We also work a lot with the oak thinnings from the coppice restoration, producing cleft oak fencing; gates; palings; laths and shingles and, of course, firewood.

We also enjoy taking on occasional, quirky, building commissions (roundhouses, summerhouses and the like) the most notable recent one being Kevin MacClouds ‘Hand made Home’ for Channel 4 TV.

This range of expertise is put back into a wide range of woodcraft courses: hurdle making; shingle making; roundwood framing for example.
